CiCoriander (Coriandrum sativum), also known ascilantro or Chinese parsley is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. Coriander is native to regions spanning from southern Europe and North Africa to southwestern Asia. It is a soft, hairless plant growing to 50 cm (20 in) tall. Coriander, commonly known as Dhania in the Indian Subcontinent or Cilantro in the Americas and some part of Europe, is an herb which is extensively used around the world as a condiment or as a garnish or as a decoration on the dishes. Coriander has a strong aroma. In powdered form, it can be consumed either independently or after mixing it with certain other Ayurveda spices. In powdered form, Coriander is generally taken with water. The seeds are ready for harvest when the plants turn brown, leaves begin to dry and fall.
